As guys we aren’t always known to accessorize with the things we wear.  To me, such things as a tie add just that extra flavor to how a guy is dressed.  It is also possible as I will point out to wear a tie in more than one way to show how an individual can both be versatile and creative in their look.

In wearing a tie as just neckwear one can show they are well versed in the ways of manhood.  I can remember the first time my Dad taught me how to tie one.  It seemed foreign to me but once I got the hang of it I wanted to constantly wear ties everywhere.  They give a gentleman the appearance of caring and depth to their outfit.

A tie as a pocket square can be both used in a formal and casual affair.  Ties come in so many unique and fresh patterns it is almost a shame to not wear them more than just around the neck.  I wear mine in not only a sport jacket but button up shirt pockets, and jean jackets.  The add both texture and design to almost any look without being too crazy.  I constantly find interesting ties and see the versatility of them rather than them just as something that I wear to a formal gathering.

To wear a tie as a belt is not the most common way of seeing a man wear one. I think it is just another fun way to wear an accessory and add more uniqueness to one’s style.  In GQ’s September 2012 issue the point out that wearing it as a belt isn’t much different than wearing early “prepsters wearing ribbon and d-ring belts.” I also feel it is just another way to show off a good tie.

Try these three ways of wearing a tie and don’t fear adding some accessories to your look.
